Jeff Ryan is a filmmaker hailing from the greatest state in America: New Jersey. Despite his lofty dreams of becoming a successful filmmaker, he, like so many others on this circus ride, found himself facing the sweet smell of rejection on a daily basis. Earlier this year, Jeff found himself falling to his knees and crying into an unwashed pillow, after receiving his ninth rejection from SXSW. It was then that Jeff decided to create a festival of his own. After a record number of submissions in its inaugural year, Jeff feels confident that mortgaging his home and personal assets to make this dream a reality was a smart decision. Time will tell, but Jeff believes he can double his submission count by 2026 if the stars continue to align.

We only accept films that have been brutally rejected by the festivals that champion "STUDIO INDIE FILMS." Please share a screenshot or fun story of a time your film has been rejected, and once we receive that, we will consider and accept your film into the Rejecta Film Festival. Failure to meet our submission guidelines means you are likely already successful, and therefore, our jealous members cannot deal with being compared to you and your fancy‑ass success, so we will NOT REVIEW your film. In fact, we'll invoice you for the extra box of tear‑filled‑tissues Jeff will have to buy after watching you find joy in your life! Okay?? SO just follow the G** D*** RULES!
